Current and future homes

Currently we have Cedar House which is situated in North Nottinghamshire in the village of Church Warsop and has occupancy for up to four children.  The home is situated within a quiet, modern residential development that offers a safe, stable, and family-oriented environment. The surrounding area is characterised by well-maintained homes, green spaces, and accessible community amenities, providing a calm and therapeutic setting for children and young people.

The location has been carefully selected to support the emotional wellbeing, safety, and development of children in our care. It offers a balance of privacy and integration, enabling young people to engage positively with the local community while benefiting from a secure and nurturing home environment.

The home has its own dedicated transport, enabling children to participate in planned activities, attend appointments, and maintain family contact. This supports our commitment to promoting positive experiences and ensuring children have access to enriching opportunities beyond the home.

Therapeutic Value of the Location

In line with our trauma-informed, attachment-based care model, the location contributes to the therapeutic ethos of the home. The calm surroundings, proximity to nature, and access to community resources help create a sense of safety, belonging, and normality. We believe that healing and growth are fostered not only within the home but through meaningful engagement with the wider world.

Future Growth and Expansion

Boardwalk Care is committed to growing sustainably so that more children and young people can experience the safety, stability, and relational care that underpin our model. As part of our long‑term vision, we are expanding our provision to create additional homes where children can thrive.

We are currently progressing through planning permission for a new home in Forest Town, Mansfield, which will offer placements for up to three children. This development reflects our commitment to small, nurturing environments where therapeutic relationships can flourish.

Alongside this, we have further homes planned across the East Midlands, ensuring that more children can benefit from Boardwalk Care’s trauma‑informed, relational approach. Our expansion is intentional and paced, ensuring that every new home meets the same high standards of culture, practice, and governance that define our existing provision.
